If Guinness people don’t give me the record, it’s Kuami Eugene - Afua Asantewaa

Afua Asantewaa, who recently completed the longest singing marathon by an individual, revealed her deep admiration for Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene, confessing that the presence of the artist affected her ability to remember song lyrics during her singathon.

In a recent interview with Joy Prime, Afua Asantewaa shared that her fondness for Kuami Eugene was so strong that she struggled to recall lyrics when he came to support her at Akwaaba Village during her singathon.

She expressed the impact of Kuami Eugene's presence, saying, “I said that guy came, and I could not remember my lyrics. I said ‘this guy has worried me.' If Guinness people don't give me the record, it's Kuami Eugene.”

Afua Asantewaa, who embarked on the singing marathon attempt, mentioned that her husband was well aware of her admiration for Kuami Eugene, which was the reason for her choice to perform most of his songs during the event.

During the singathon, Afua Asantewaa captivated the nation as she completed her quest after singing for an impressive 126 hours and 52 minutes, surpassing the existing record set by India's Sunil Waghmare in 2012.

While awaiting official verification from Guinness World Record, her accomplishment gained widespread support from celebrities, including Kuami Eugene, , , , and others, who showed up at Akwaaba Village to endorse and encourage her throughout the marathon.
