National 100m record holder Benjamin Azamati and long jumper Abraham Seaneke have commenced training at the Sports Stadium in as they prepare for the 13th African Games. Both athletes, with significant experience on the world stage, have secured spots on the final list of competitors for the prestigious event.

Azamati, set to compete in the 100m and 4x100m , appears determined to clinch medals, while Abraham Seaneke, Ghana's second long jump record holder, has exhibited a similar level of energy and dedication during training sessions.

Mr. Bawa Fuseini, President of Ghana Athletics, reiterated his confidence in the team's ability to make the nation proud. He expressed readiness among the coaching staff and athletes, emphasizing the commitment to success.

Joining Azamati and Seaneke are other notable athletes including former 200m record holder Joseph Paul Amoah, William Amponsah, James Dadzie, Sarfo Ansah, and Alex Amankwah. The Ghanaian contingent is expected to be complete by March 13th, 2024.

Athletics events are slated to take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium from March 18th to March 22nd, 2024.
