sensation, Afua Asantewaa, has raised concerns over the Guinness World Records (GWR) allegedly breaching their contract by announcing the result of her singing marathon without prior agreement.

In an interview on GTV, Afua Asantewaa clarified that the contract signed with GWR stipulated that she would be informed of the results first, allowing her the privilege to announce it to the public.

“In the contract we signed, until I decide to let it out, they can't. There are so many things I have tried in the past that I willingly embraced failure (and) that brought me this far. So why would I hide the results from the public? No way,” she emphasized.

As of February 23, when GWR replied to a tweet, Afua Asantewaa asserted she did not know the results due to her inability to access the email sent by GWR containing the outcome.

She disclosed that she alerted GWR about her access issues on February 12, but to date, there has been no response from them.

“As we speak, I cannot log in. And we had screenshots of it as if I knew this would happen. I lodged a complaint with them that I cannot access their website or my account so they should look into it for me because I need official documents, whatever they've sent to make a statement.”

Afua Asantewaa expressed her commitment to transparency and noted that she and her team were planning to announce the results once GWR responded to their concerns.

“What I understand is that everybody is emotional about this and anticipating a lot, and I know that they wish that the results came from us. We were even planning where to break the news when we received it. We wanted to do a press conference and all that.”

Despite the challenges, she reiterated that she would not purposely hide the results and would embrace them, whether successful or not, and consider trying again if needed.

Afua Asantewaa, known for her social media presence, embarked on the sing-a-thon challenge in December 2023, attempting to break the existing record of 105 hours set in 2012. Despite her impressive five-day singing marathon, GWR announced on February 23, 2024, that her attempt was not successful.

The controversy surrounding the delayed results and GWR's refund of the priority review payment continues to unfold, with Afua Asantewaa maintaining that the refund does not confirm the success or failure of her attempt. Despite the uncertainties, she remains proud of the accomplishment of completing the five-day experience.
